How's Kakerus sex life?

Hahahaha... pretty much non-existent, to be honest. Like, this man has legit been abstinent for years, to the point where he is definitely not the most sexually active person around. Someone should probably end up showing him a good time, though, because he definitely deserves it.

    "Whoa, now that's one doozy of a question right there!" Kakeru exclaims while sheepishly running a hand through his dark, unkempt locks. Truth be told, he wasn't expecting someone to be that curious, they would ask what kind of women he liked... yet so rarely did he get to talk about his own taste regarding the fairer sex, he finds himself sporting a softer grin.

    "Still, I guess there's no harm in a little guy talk," Kakeru then finally acknowledges. "Now, this is just between you and me, you hear, but I really tend to fancy cute, cheerful ladies with a love for life... a real go-getter who lives every day to the fullest. 'Course, it's not an absolute requirement for her to be that way - it's simply who I find myself being the most attracted to."

                    ...In other words, his type is basically @aaternum's Ryu.

To be honest, for as forgetful as Kakeru could be, I still sincerely believe he is very good at remembering pronouns (unless of course, it’s neopronouns, due to the fact they are a very Western concept and he himself is only used to Japanese pronouns like watashi, boku, ore, etc) but bad at remembering names.

Like, he’s quick to go ‘alright’ without even questioning you or reacting with confusion on the off chance you bring up you use they/them pronouns or use gendered pronouns despite being gender-queer, if only because I headcanon he had a non-binary ex-lover at one point in time, so the existence of non-binary/agender folks really isn’t new to him; in fact, I don’t think he would treat someone any differently before or after they reveal they’re trans because he already accepts that people come from all walks of life. He would, however, prefer to be told a patient is a trans person beforehand, if only so he could provide them with the best treatment possible.

Like, it’s weird because Kakeru is that one heteronormative LGBT person who hardly ever brings up his sexuality to other people, but would canonically wear a sash with the pansexual pride colours in his concept art, so the people who are more self aware are constantly questioning if there’s more to him than truly meets the eye. I mean, on one hand, he would have no qualms implying he’s attracted to women, but on the other hand, he also shamelessly wears the pansexual pride colours as if it’s the most natural thing in the world.

Regardless, though, Kakeru is a cis man you wouldn’t necessarily expect to be surprisingly understanding and chill about trans people, but he is; in fact, he would never give you a hard time about your gender the way most cis people would. Due to this, I imagine trans students attending Shin Mikado Academy are able to trust him the most out of all the teachers, because he doesn’t judge them for being who they are or make them conform to their ‘birth gender’, despite Japan generally frowning upon individuality and those who stand out from everyone else

Spoilers abound for Monark, so if you plan on playing it blind at some point, feel free to skip past this post! As a disclaimer, bolded terms/names will have their own glossary at the end of this post, so people will know what they actually mean even with no prior knowledge of Monark.

Honestly, this is by no means canon, but I like to think that a side effect from being the Pactbearer of Greed is that you can’t exactly die from old age anymore, so those who were previously bound to Avaritia (the Monark of Greed) either die from grievous injuries, poison, or suicide... so in a way, Kakeru is pretty much immortal, as long as someone doesn’t stab him or he himself doesn’t take extreme measures to end his own life.

Still, him choosing to commit suicide is hardly likely, so if anything, he’s far likelier to die from being murdered than, say... overdosing on pills. Due to this, it’s very possible that had Yoru not severely injured him or his Ideals weren’t shattered, Kakeru could live long past the age of 100 years old.

Naturally, he can still physically age, but because he’s granted the ability to rewind time and teleport anywhere he pleases as the Pactbearer of Greed, he could theoretically alter his appearance too by using his Authority on himself, especially since it’s canonically established he could easily manipulate time and space itself to heal any injury he gets by making it so it never happened to begin with. Kakeru just chooses not to make himself look younger because he thinks he’s already handsome the way he is.

Modern verse wise, though, I made it so he never ended up forging a Pact with Avaritia... meaning there is no angst-y plot elements to his story and he never gets to experience multiple time loops/timelines like how he did in Monark.

GLOSSARY.

Monark: Ruler class entity among the Daemons who are responsible for the spawning of lower ranked Daemons called Nobles and Legion. They are drawn to strong Egos and wishes, forming pacts with humans and granting them special abilities called Authorities. The Monarks are associated with the seven sins or desires.

Avaritia: Daemon of Greed who canonically takes on this form and this form. Those who make a pact with them end up getting Chronokinesis, the ability to manipulate space and time.

Authority: Powers that go against the laws of the universe. Only Daemons, residents of the Otherworld, and Pactbearers are capable of wielding them. Because these powers adhere to the laws of the Otherworld, their usage creates distortions in the world, giving rise to distortions such as Mist.

Ideals: Manifestation of a pact between a Daemon and a human. They appear as physical crystals within the Otherworld. There are three Ideals formed for each pact. The areas of the Otherworld containing these pacts can be accessed from areas of the Mist receiving a call from that part of the Otherworld. These spots in the Mist can be identified by a messy stack of smartphones in the vicinity of where the calls are received. Ideals are usually left defended by Daemons.

FAVOURITES!

♡  color  : Kakeru honestly wears a lot of whites and blacks, so I like to say he favours a mixture of light and dark hues ( aka black with white, lavender with gray, etc ).

♡  holiday  : Valentines Day, if only because it’s a day he tends to receive giri choco from the female students and he happens to actually like sweets.

♡  location  : Anywhere with a nice comfy bed, to be honest.

♡  activity  : Napping, golfing, and anything that doesn’t require much physical strength.

♡  film / show  : I feel like Kakeru would personally be fond of Godzilla, because it was a film he grew up watching.

♡  food  : I kinda delved more into this with the headcanon post I’ve written for him over here, but one meal that specifically comes to mind is Sapporo Soup Curry.

♡  beverage  : Again, I delved more into his favourite beverage here, but the TLDR version is that he likes saké.

♡  animal  : Not gonna lie, I don’t think Kakeru necessarily has a favourite animal? But he does tend to like those that are quiet and calm, so I could see him being really fond of an older dog or a less aggressive cat.

♡  flower  : Plum blossoms and pink verbenas. To be honest, I headcanon Kakeru is honestly quite knowledgeable when it comes to hanakotoba because he grew up with parents who ran a flower shop, so those two happen to have the most significance for him, if only because plum blossoms symbolize ‘fidelity, beauty, longevity’ while also meaning ‘keep your promise’ while pink verbenas pretty much means ‘family union’ in the language of flowers.

♡  song  : I feel like Kakeru is more of a jazz and classical music type of guy? Like, I cannot see him being into heavy metal or rock at all... so the type of songs he listens to would be soothing and relaxing orchestral music or Japanese jazz, so while he doesn’t necessarily have a favourite song, his music tends to very old school.

Honestly, while it would be nice, Kakeru doesn’t actively seek romance. Why, at one point, he even tells the protagonist he makes himself unappealing on purpose due to his position as school doctor.

Like, sure, he might not technically be a teacher, but he’s still a faculty member and it’s personally against his code of conduct to allow that relationship between him and another student, but dating in the workplace is also a bit iffy for him... due to how outside of AUs, the only female teacher remotely attractive is Neiko and even then, he considers her to be a bit too no-nonsense for his tastes.

Of course, due to this being the case, Kakeru strikes me as the sorta person to just let things happen naturally, to the point where his current love life is practically non-existent, because he is no rush to really love again. Back when he was younger, however, he did have two significant others and interestingly enough, one happened to be a guy while the other one happened to an androgynous non-binary individual.

Sadly, though, those relationships never ended up working out, meaning they’re now exes, but unlike what fanon might have you you believe, I personally don’t headcanon Kakeru as a virgin. He just gets no bitches, because the ladies don’t tend to find his scruffiness hot and he’s more of an acquired taste than anything else.

As for crushes, though, he canonically doesn’t have any, but rp-wise, he currently fancies @aaternum’s Ryu... and while I haven’t yet gotten around to throwing Kakeru at her yet, I also like the idea of him growing to develop feelings for @amaurct’s Kazuko, but for that to happen, I have to actually write it.

To Kakeru, winter is definitely a lot more bearable than summer, because at least then, he doesn’t have to endure the hot sweltering sun beating down on him when going outside, to the point where the sweat from his clothes would cling to his skin. Still, now that he’s older, the cold weather during winter makes him experience joint pain quite often and the snow is a pain to traverse on foot or car, so it’s not like there aren’t downsides to winter either.

If nothing else, though, Kakeru appreciates the fact he has an excuse to stay indoors more often and that he can simply just throw on a sweater to be comfy. What’s more, provided the snow ever gets to be too much, school could also be cancelled, meaning he can simply relax back home.

As for any significant thoughts or feelings, though, he does remember building a snowman with his younger brother, Mitsuru, skiing with him at Mount Moiwa, and attending the Snow Festival in Sapporo alongside the rest of his family members. Despite the fact it was always freezing in Sapporo, however, he had fond memories of it, and to this day, Sapporo Soup Curry remains his favourite dish. These days, though, the only time he really eats it is when he bothers visiting the city where the dish stems from or @aaternum’s Ryu cooks it for him.

...But yeah, whenever he thinks about winter, Sapporo, snow, and cold weather is what immediately comes to mind.

Considering Kakeru has griped about no longer having much of an appetite and his taste buds being dulled the older he gets, I imagine food doesn’t really bring him much joy anymore. Granted, he’ll still eat out of necessity, but he won’t really snack on stuff in between meals or even order a ton at restaurants since he already knows he won’t be able to finish it by himself.

Due to this, his meals would usually consist of either instant ramen, cereal bars, Miso soup, or Ochazuke (a Japanese dish that’s made by pouring green tea, dashi, or hot water over cooked rice). What he does find delicious, however, tends to have really strong flavors... meaning oftentimes, in order for him to say your cooking is good, it’ll have to be a dish with lots of herbs or spices it it, like curry.

Honestly, Kakeru’s spice tolerance is pretty up there, so he can handle kimchi and hot peppers just fine... but aside from spicy dishes, he also really likes sweets. Despite this, though, he doesn’t exactly eat them all that often, because he’s under the impression that stuff like desserts are mainly enjoyed by women and it wouldn’t be very masculine of him to be eating them at a café where young girls usually frequent. Again, he’s a pretty old-fashioned guy, so what did you really expect?

Still, he’ll continue to accept giri choco from female students every Valentine’s Day and would even be the over the moon if you were to give him baked goods, entirely unprompted. He just wouldn’t buy them for himself because he fears people would judge him for still enjoying sweets at his age.

But TLDR?

Most of the time, Kakeru doesn’t eat for pleasure and only eats so he doesn’t starve at the bare minimum.

That’s a very good question! To be honest, I did kinda end up writing a whole meta post regarding food with him over here, but as far as drinks go... I feel like Kakeru would personally be most partial to saké, a traditional alcoholic beverage made from fermented rice.

Of course, despite the fact his diet isn’t exactly a healthy one, he does make a habit to not indulge in alcohol too often, because as a doctor, he can’t afford to really have hangovers, especially if tomorrow happens to be a school day.

Still, with his taste buds no longer being what it used to be, the drinks that tends to spark the most joy for him are ones that stimulate the nerve endings on his tongue... and he happens to like saké the most, because it is a clean-tasting, slightly sweet drink with an aroma he finds relaxing.

As for whether he prefers to have it alone or with company... honestly, I don’t think Kakeru has a preference? To me at least, he’d enjoy drinking saké both alone and with company around... though ideally, he would prefer his company not be minors for obvious reasons.

Now, based from these screenshots alone, one would naturally assume Kakeru’s love life was practically non-existent; only, in my humble opinion, I believe he did have two lovers. They just... weren’t women; in fact, I headcanon he had secretly dated a guy during highschool ( Muga Shinosaki ) and briefly had an AFAB non-binary person as a significant other during college ( Rei Kamijo ), but those relationships never lasted long because he had prioritized family more than them and was never willing to be openly affectionate around them in public.

Of course, he could have pursued someone else while studying to become a doctor, but after his brother died, Kakeru just ended up focusing solely on studying for his doctorate while at university. Honestly, relationships had been practically the last thing on his mind by that point, so understandably, he remained single from the age of twenty four to thirty three.

So in conclusion...
